Big Romance
Meet Big Romance, the indie-rock trio hailing from Newcastle that’s redefining what it means to make emotionally charged, guitar-led music. Formed by Dan, Greenup, and Louis, Big Romance channels the carefree, gritty spirit of slacker rock, citing influences like Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., and Diiv. Once inspired by the polished sounds of indie pop bands like The 1975, they’ve since shifted gears, crafting a noisier, rawer sound that’s as honest as it is powerful.
Their journey has been one of musical evolution, peeling back the layers of perfectionism to reveal something deeper and more resonant. “We’re not looking to write something perfect,” the band explains. “We’re looking to write songs that are fun to play and even more fun to sing with friends, whether that’s in a big field or a packed venue.”
Their debut EP, This Ain't Easy, set to release on November 8th, promises to bring even more of this unrefined, honest energy. While we haven’t heard the full EP yet, if their latest single 'Self-medicate' is any indication, fans can expect tracks packed full of raw riffs, heartfelt lyrics, and a vibe that’s unapologetically real. Big Romance are ready to make some noise.
