Cliffords
Cork-based indie rock-pop quintet, Cliffords, breathe fresh energy into the vibrant Irish music scene. Formed by five close friends unified by a deep passion for heartfelt songwriting and atmospheric melodies, the band effortlessly channels the emotional intensity of love, loss, and catharsis into their compelling sonic landscape.
Led by rhythm guitarist and vocalist Iona Lynch, whose emotive voice resonates with raw authenticity, Cliffords comprise bassist and trumpet maestro Gavin Dawkins, expressive lead guitarist Harry Menton, the steadfast rhythms of drummer Dan Ryan, and newest member Locon O'Toole adding depth with keys. The chemistry between Lynch and Ryan dates back to their school days, adding a powerful intimacy and cohesion to their performances.
Their latest single, Bittersweet, released on 11th March, showcases their evolving sound. Richly textured guitars and hauntingly beautiful soundscapes intertwine seamlessly with driving, hook-laden beats. Emotionally charged lyrics and Lynch's soaring vocals create a potent blend reminiscent of revered alt-rock contemporaries Wolf Alice, and the iconic Irish band, The Cranberries.
Cliffords are currently riding a wave of momentum, bringing their heartfelt performances to stages throughout April and May, with more dates confirmed through June, July, and August. Nottingham's very own Bodega will host them on 16th April, offering local audiences a chance to experience their captivating live show.
