Meet Vona Vella, a vibrant indie pop duo comprised of twenty-one-year-old singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Izzy Davis and Dan Cunningham. Officially formed in Autumn 2020, the duo’s breakthrough moment came when their single 'Sun' caught the attention of Ross Godfrey from Morcheeba. The track’s remix quickly turned into an internet sensation, racking up over a million streams almost overnight.

Building on that momentum, the pair released their eponymous debut album Vona Vella in July 2023. Recorded at The Albion Rooms studio and produced by Jason Stafford (known for his work with Jamie T, Sports Team, and The Libertines), the album blends smooth, minimalist pop with captivating arrangements. Available on CD, digital download, and vinyl (including limited-edition coloured variants), Vona Vella encapsulates the duo’s dreamy sound, already making waves with fans of Morcheeba, Serge Gainsbourg, and Cigarettes After Sex.

The album features twelve tracks co-written by Izzy and Dan, with Dan playing guitar and piano and Izzy contributing vocals, guitar, and flute, accompanied by drummer Jake Bott. The album continues the minimalist pop vibe that earned Vona Vella significant attention with their 2022 EP Go Outside Forever.

Vona Vella’s live performances have added to their growing reputation. They’ve supported the likes of The Libertines, Tim Burgess, Morcheeba, Peter Doherty, Hak Baker, and Reverend & The Makers. The duo’s festival appearances at The Great Escape and Dot2Dot Festivals have cemented their place in the UK indie scene, where they continue to shine with their infectious, genre-defying pop.
