Youth Club
Formed in Southend, Youth Club is a dynamic four-piece pop band made up of Danny Blanco, Joe Fran, Gerarrd Duffield, and Rees Broomfield. Their journey began in 2014 with the self-released debut EP Colours, which not only caught the attention of music lovers but also made waves in the UK charts, reaching No. 25 in the official independent singles chart and No. 7 in the iTunes alternative charts. This achievement was significant, as they became the first unsigned Essex band to chart alongside industry giants like Adele.
Over the years, Youth Club's infectious blend of indie pop and alt-rock has garnered them a loyal fanbase. They’ve shared the stage with top artists and played major festivals including Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Y Not Festival, Standon Calling, and Beat Herder. Their energetic live performances have earned them widespread recognition, including support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Idolator, TMRW Magazine, and MTV Rocks. Their track Pressure earned a coveted Radio 1 playlist spot, while BBC Introducing also gave them consistent airplay.
Following the success of their early releases, Youth Club hit the studio with renowned producer Clint Murphy to carve out a new sound. Their evolution continued with singles like Are You Wanting It All, Misunderstood, The Man That I Am, and Our Love, all showcasing their ability to craft songs with emotional depth and infectious hooks. Their latest offering, a remix of Time with London-based DJ and producer J Hustl3, pushes their creative boundaries further.
Their re-released album ‘Colours’ with bonus tracks derserves to be given a spin.
