The Oasis Reunion: Catching up with Liam

Liam the Super Fan, Not Liam G. He's a Bit Busy.

With the recent announcement of superstar mega rock band Oasis getting back together, we thought we should do a piece on it.

We tried to get one of the G brothers, but we can't seem to get through to their publicists and PR agents. Not really sure if we have the right numbers, but hey, the universe will provide, right? Right. And so it did. Not happy with not speaking to the Liam, we went and found a Liam—a real super fan of Oasis who happens to have the same name as the enigmatic frontman himself, although Liam says he had the name first.

Anyway, we interviewed Liam with some Q&As, so here they are:

NottsRocks: Excited?

Liam: It's amazing! I mean, the whole world has been waiting for this moment, haven’t they? Like the second coming. You can say that on here, right?

NottsRocks: Um, yes, no probs. Pretty much say anything you want. So clearly, this, as you say, is like the second coming, but as an Oasis mega super fan, why do you think it's taken so long?

Liam: I don't know. I mean, I have a brother, and he can be an annoying git at times, so maybe this hiatus was needed. I mean, you can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family, can you?

NottsRocks: Suppose not. So let's get back to Oasis. When was the first time you listened to or saw them?

Liam: Must have been when they released the second album, Definitely Maybe. I mean, I had heard of them, but my girlfriend at the time was a huge fan and was playing that album on repeat for hours and hours, so it just sank in. I became hooked.

NottsRocks: Wait, wasn’t Definitely Maybe the first album?

Liam: Oh yeah, that’s right. My bad. It was actually (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? that got me. That’s the one she played nonstop. I guess it just shows you how deep their music digs into your brain. It’s like once you start, you can't stop.

NottsRocks: So what’s your favourite Oasis song?

Liam: That’s like asking a parent to choose their favourite child, isn’t it? But if I have to pick, I’d say “Champagne Supernova.” There’s something about it, you know? It’s like a journey. Seven minutes of pure euphoria, and you just get lost in it.

NottsRocks: A classic, indeed. So, when you heard about the reunion, what was your first reaction?

Liam: Well, I was in Morrisons, right? Just picking up some beans. And my phone started blowing up with messages from mates—'Liam, it’s happening! They’re back!'—and I just froze. Left the beans, ran home, and blasted “Wonderwall” for the neighbours. They weren’t impressed, but who cares?

NottsRocks: Sounds like a moment to remember. Do you think this reunion will last, or are we in for another explosive split?

Liam: That’s the million-dollar question, innit? I reckon they’ll keep it together for a bit, but with the Gallaghers, you never know. They’re like two magnets—one minute they’re sticking together, and the next they’re repelling each other. But hey, even if it’s just for one album and a tour, I’m all in.

NottsRocks: What’s your plan now they've announced a tour? Are you going to try and get tickets?

Liam: Try? Mate, I’ll sell my car if I have to. I’m going to be front and centre, waving a Union Jack and singing along to every word. It’s not just a concert—it’s history in the making.

NottsRocks: Well, the tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9am, there's going to be huge demand. What's your plan to get hold of them?

Liam: I have all the ticket sites up, and I've set the alarm for 5:30am, you know, to be first in line and all that.

NottsRocks: Um... it doesn’t really work that way, mate. But yeah, get up early and bash that buy button as soon as it goes live. If you haven't set up accounts with the ticket sites, we suggest you do that now. Any message for Liam if he's reading this?

Liam: Just this—cheers for coming back, mate. We’ve missed you, and we’re ready to have it large all over again. Oh, and if you need another Liam in the band, I’m free! I can play the banjo a little!

And there you have it—a conversation with a true Oasis fanatic. He might not be the Liam, but he’s certainly just as passionate.

As for the reunion itself, only time will tell if it’s the rock 'n' roll resurrection we’ve all been waiting for or just another chapter in the Gallagher brothers’ legendary saga of sibling rivalry, but we don’t think so. It’s all about the love.

Either way, it’s going to be one hell of a ride. As Liam said “It’s history in the making.”

A Beer and Burger Before Any Gig? Absolutely.

Fill that tummy.
