Ooops!

Your Dad’s Put Your Decking Down Wrong

Yep that’s right.

Us Brits, including your dad, have been laying decking incorrectly for, well, ever.

You may have read about the public announcement last year when Stephanie from @my_london_home wrote:

'I have a public service announcement for anyone that hasn't seen my stories. YOUR DECKING IS UPSIDE DOWN!'

'Yep, ridged side up? That's upside down. The ridges are to encourage circulation and stop the rot. They do not add extra grip. They are not meant to be seen. OK I'm done now. You're welcome.'

Who the fuck knew?

Why hasn’t B&Q let us in on this?

In fact, why did those decking professionals I hired last year to install my back garden decking know about this?

All summer I’ve been walking around on my decking barefoot thinking these ridges are a bit of a bum aren’t they?

Damn! I could have been walking around on lovely a smooth surface saving my beautifully pedicured feet a lot of drama!

Maybe I’ll ask for a refund?

Anyway now you know, and if daddy has laid them incorrectly tell him he now needs to fix the other shit that needs fixing in your gaff as a way of making it up for it, but you can’t really blame him cause all OUR DADS AND MUMS have laid it down incorrectly since time began!

Well everything’s a learning curve I suppose.

Stephanie should be awarded an MBE for this, someone get a petition going.
