SONIC BOOM MUSIC FESTIVAL is an independent festival produced by Sonic Boom Music CIC in partnership with East Staffs Borough Council and Burton Music Collective and supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

Our town is uniting the community with new music to shape its future. It began two years ago with sold-out shows and new fans connecting. In 2024, it continues with a locally curated festival, matching the quality of national festivals. Fiercely independent and dedicated to championing new music.

We know music can change a community, raise up a town. SONIC BOOM MUSIC FESTIVAL is a regionally significant open festival event, its main stage is free, with evening events all across town, curated by our music community.

Burton on Trent has had and still has an incredible new music scene… From The 76 club that sat as a hub for local acts and a respected stop for national artists. The town has buzzed with names like Sex Pistols, Simple Minds, The Lambrettas… our exports include The Telescopes, Riding the Low, The Leisure Society and many more.

After Main Stage closes at 8pm the music continues in every venue across Burton on Trent. So many top new music acts, so may genres, so much talent all night, all across town.

And they have great beer, so stop being lazy, go enjoy a great day out listening to some of the hottest new bands whilst drinking Burtons beer. Boom shacka lacka.
