House of Women
House of Women: a haunting and heavy four-piece making waves in the East London music scene. Formed in late 2021 at a music college, the band features tight-knit friends Kyla Lanai (vocals and keys), Poppy Miller (guitar), Fay Thorburn (bass), and Elsa Malazogu (guitar). With their distinctive blend of ethereal melodies and gritty guitar riffs, they’ve quickly established themselves as one of London’s most exciting acts.
House of Women has electrified audiences at iconic venues like Third Man Records and 2000trees festival, and they had the honour of opening the Main Stage at All Points East. Their debut EP, 'People Printing,' released in 2023, showcased their raw talent and dynamic sound, earning them significant recognition, including breaking the record for most show sign-ups at Dalston’s legendary Shacklewell Arms and gaining generous airplay on BBC Radio 1.
In 2024, they unveiled their latest single, 'Overgrown,' accompanied by a mesmerizing beach video directed by Lea Otovic. This track not only highlights their growth as artists but also channels the nostalgic vibes of the 90s, capturing the essence of alt-rock with a fresh twist.
House of Women continues to captivate audiences with their powerful performances. Drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Alice in Chains, PJ Harvey, and Jeff Buckley, they create an energetic and emotive sound that resonates with fans old and new.
