Manilla Times
Emerging indie rockers Manilla Times, hailed as one of XS Manchester's "Ones to Watch 24", deliver infectious anthems brimming with energy and nostalgia. Originating from small towns in Ireland and North Wales, the band - comprising Jack McKelvey (vocals), Jase Watkins (guitar), Ollie Neave (bass), and Sean Wheldom (drums) - now straddle the vibrant music scenes of Manchester and London.
In 2023, they notched up sold-out UK & Ireland headline shows, including the iconic Deaf Institute in Manchester, a standout performance at Y NOT festival, and extensive radio airplay on BBC Introducing, XS Manchester, Radio X, among others. Their tracks have also graced top Spotify editorial playlists like "Proper Belters" and "Fresh Finds UK & IE".
2024 promises to be their biggest year yet, with sell-out shows in London, Paris, and Edinburgh, and festival appearances at FOCUS Wales, The Great Escape, and Glastonbury.
Their new single Mona Lisa arrives fresh after making their Glastonbury debut, and has already picked up radio coverage on BBC Radio Wales Welsh A-List, RTE Radio One Recommends in Ireland, XS Manchester and Amazing Radio C-List after the first weekend of release. Produced by the acclaimed Alex Quinn (The Royston Club, overpass, The Lottery Winners, Declan Welsh), 'Mona Lisa' is an evocative anthem blending a vibrant and energetic indie tone with intricate storytelling.
