Beat The Streets Reveals First 30+ Acts For The Charity Fundraising Festival

The first 30+ acts for Nottingham’s Beat The Streets Festival have been announced for the charity fundraiser taking place on Sunday 26 January 2025. The multi-venue event, which raises significant funds for Nottinghamshire homelessness charity Framework, sees immense support from the local music scene and community.

This year is set to be a landmark edition for the DHP Family festival, with total funds raised across all seven editions expected to exceed the £500,000 milestone.

Confirmed Acts

Returning to Beat The Streets is Evil Scarecrow, one of the UK’s foremost heavy metal bands. More than just a metal gig, Evil Scarecrow offers a unique blend of rock theatre, growing bigger, louder, and sillier every year, from local pubs to main stage performances at Bloodstock Festival.

Nottingham-based rapper Jayahadadream is also confirmed, following a stellar year that saw her play Glastonbury after winning the 2024 Emerging Talent Competition. Her high-energy, thought-provoking storytelling and hip hop beats are set to bring a fresh vibe to the festival.

Riding The Low, the musical project of actor Paddy Considine, will also perform. Considine, known for his roles in Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon and A Room for Romeo Brass, brings his immersive live set to Beat The Streets. His musical venture will also take the stage at Download Festival next year.

Joseph Patten, Festival Booker, said:

“We’re really excited to announce our first wave of artists for Beat The Streets 2025. As usual, we’ve got an incredible range of local talent supporting the event and Framework, who are doing vital work with the money we raise. We’re so grateful to all the artists giving their time and talent, and we hope the people of Nottingham show up as they always do to help raise even more money for Framework.”

Festival Details:

The festival will take place across major venues in the city centre, including Rock City, Rescue Rooms, The Bodega, and Rough Trade, with all proceeds from tickets, bar, and merch going directly to Framework.

Each year, the money raised at Beat The Streets helps maintain support for rough sleepers in Nottingham. In October, the Street Outreach Team found 49 people sleeping rough in just one night—a staggering 188% increase from last year. With this growing need, Framework is running a Winter Appeal to urgently address a funding shortfall of £189,122.

George Akins, DHP Family MD, said:

“Since starting Beat The Streets in 2018, the money we’ve raised to support Framework has funded some great projects. This year’s event will likely take us past the £500,000 milestone, and we’re excited to celebrate that milestone alongside the Nottingham music community in January.”

Framework Chief Executive Andrew Redfern said:

“The homelessness crisis is worsening, and the number of people sleeping rough in Nottingham continues to rise. The funds raised at Beat The Streets are crucial to maintaining our work with rough sleepers. We’re grateful for the ongoing support of the artists, DHP, and the public in making this event happen.”

Impact of Past Funds:

The 2023 festival helped fund the construction of Akins House in Forest Fields, a block of eight purpose-built flats named after DHP directors George and Sean Akins. These flats now house long-term rough sleepers and provide life-changing support.

Brian Mutton, Framework service manager for the flats, said:

“Good quality, secure, self-contained accommodation with support is vital for helping people who’ve endured rough sleeping start to rebuild their lives. Akins House has had a profound impact on its residents. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in Beat The Streets.”

About Framework:
